A WORD ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE AT LOYOLA

To impart competence in language skills to Loyola’s students, the English department has considered books that are exclusively designed to instruct the manner of speaking and writing logically. Language books of Loyola have been selected consulting thousands of books published in the US and the UK. Thus, they offer unparalleled buildup of writing, vocabulary, and grammar skills.

THE TESTING SYSTEM OF ENGLISH

Loyola tests the proficiency of a student in seven departments of the language–speaking, reading, handwriting, spelling, comprehension, grammar, and writing– separately. They all make independent subjects of study. Thus, Loyola’s pattern of testing is not an eye wash but a true test of the abilities of its students. The aim is to empower them to face competitions in Nepal and overseas with ease.

CHINESE LANGUAGE CLASS

To tap the immense capacity of students to learn three-four languages together at this stage, we have added one more language Chinese to our curriculum. A native speaker of Chinese language is teaching the students of primary and lower secondary. They are periodically evaluated to be graded and provided with proficiency certificates.

The Chinese songs, dances and other co-curricular activities are enhancing students’ interest in the Chinese art and culture. Moreover they are getting acquainted with one of the neighboring countries.
